Another 'can't
miss' drive is along the Wild and Scenic section of Hwy. 27
from Main St. South through the Crooked River Canyon. First
you will see farms and ranches, then river views, mesas and
palisades. Stop to hike at Chimney Rock (1.3 miles) for more
spectacular views.

Crooked River Canyon
Chris Keylock
Williams will lead a paint-out along the Crooked River. We all
know Chris; Past President, a great teacher, and frequent award
winner. Another paint-out will be held at Pioneer Park next
to historic Crook County Courthouse. Paint the courthouse or
an authentic frontier cabin. There is a covered area if weather
is uncertain.
On Saturday afternoon
Kara will give a presentation on painting for theme shows at
the Crook County Library. A fun and inspiring way to organize
an art show is by painting with a theme. In this session several
critique groups will be represented, share slides of their work,
and discuss different aspects of theme shows they have held.
If you would like to participate as a presenter in this session,
please contact Kara Pilcher, 503-663-0145.
Mark your calendar
and set aside Wednesday, Thursday and Friday October 3rd, 4th
and 5th for Susan Cowan's watercolor workshop in Prineville.
Note this is a change from our usual 5 day workshop by our jurors
following the convention weekend. It is just 3 days, but promises
to be action packed. Look for the sign-up form in this issue
of Watermark.
